Exercise Physiologists are allied health practitioners who assess, treat and manage chronic and complex health conditions and injuries.

They treat all conditions spanning musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic and mental health. They provide behavioural coaching, health education, exercise counselling, and physical rehabilitation. All interventions are evidence based and tailored according to symptoms, barriers and goals.

Assessment

What this phase looks like is different for everyone. We'll collect data based on a range of objective and subjective variables significant to what you've got going on. This gives us a baseline to prescribe from and circle back to so we're accountable for progress.

Education

From the moment we meet you, we plan for your discharge. What this means, is that we focus on you having the knowledge and know-how to self-manage. We're not interested in keeping people captive to us week in, week out. We're invested in transferring our knowledge to you, so it's yours to keep.

Prescription

Your goals and our baselines guide what we prescribe. We'll address barriers and focus on what is realistic and therefore achievable. We're not interested in pretty prescription that never leaves paper. We're about sustainable change.

Don't mistake us forPhysiotherapists

We'll be outwardly polite but will sigh internally.

We’re commonly mistaken but there are significant differences. Physio’s diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions in the acute phase. For these musculoskeletal conditions that become chronic, once stabilised, they will hand over to an EP for ongoing management.

In addition to treating chronic musculoskeletal conditions, also in an EPs scope of practice are neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic and mental health challenges.
